4 Ways to Transform Your Garden Ready for Summer
Despite the fact that we’re still in the icy, or should that be ‘windy’ grips of winter, spring is just around the corner and before you know it it’ll be time for BBQs, pool parties, sunbathing, and garden parties until the sun begins to set late in the evening.
Summer is very much a season to be enjoyed outdoors, which is all well and good, providing you’re got a lovely garden space to enjoy it in. But what about if your garden leaves a lot to be desired? Well, if your garden could use some TLC, why not show it some TLC?
Transforming a garden needn’t be a big job, or indeed, an expensive job. Some new garden furniture here, a water feature there, and before you know it you’ve got yourself an outdoor space to be proud of for all seasons of the year.
To help you achieve your dream outdoor space for summer, here are 4 ways to transform your garden.
Add some flames to your patio with an outdoor firepit
In terms of popularity, outdoor firepits are most certainly up there amongst the most popular garden accessories, and rightly so.
If your patio seating area is dull and lifeless, adding an outdoor firepit into the mix will give you the ultimate gathering area where you can socialise with your friends and family, or simply relax by yourself with a good book as you watch the flames gently dance as the sun sets.
A ceramic mosaic firepit table for example, looks fantastic on patios and in gardens and is great in the summer and for keeping warm during the winter. You can even use it as a beautiful BBQ too!
Purchase wall planters
Wall planters can brighten up any garden, especially if your garden is fairly small, or if it is simply lacking grass and soil to plant in.
Wall planters are perfect in that they can be attached to a wall, filled with soil and compost, and you can then plant whatever you like in them.
If you want some colour you can plant bright flowers and plants, or you could be practical and plant herbs, or even fruits and vegetables if you’ve the space and the patience to look after them and harvest them.
Add some colour
When we think of summer, we think of bright and vibrant colours.
A great way of really brightening up your garden is to plant some colourful flowers and plants and purchase bright and vibrant accessories such as plant pots, chairs, and garden sculptures in bold and eye-catching shades and colours.
Go weatherproof with teak wood furniture
Wooden garden furniture here in the UK isn’t the best idea normally. You see, wood tends to rot when wet, and it tends to rain in the UK a lot. To keep wooden garden furniture you either need to treat and preserve it regularly, or simply leave it to have a more “weathered” look until it rots and breaks.
There is, however, a solution, in the form of teak wood. Teak wood is very durable and hard-wearing and it is incredibly weather resistant. This is why yachts and boats tend to use it on their decks.
If you’re looking for something to sit on in the garden this year, how about teak wooden furniture instead?
Teak furniture such as this sun lounger looks fantastic, it is smooth, it is light, it is weatherproof, and it’s very comfortable and is perfect for making the most of those rare occasions in the summer when the sun does indeed decide to show itself.
